What ClipAspect collects, why, and how to get it deleted.

Who is responsible
ClipAspect is operated by Grandiere, Chemin des pépinières 20, Renens, Switzerland.
For anything about your personal data, write to clipaspect@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account — your email address, your name if you give one, and a hash of your password. The password itself is never stored.
- Your sessions — a hashed session token, plus the IP address and browser of the device that signed in.
- Your videos — the file you upload, its name, size and duration, and the clips produced from it.
- Transcripts — the text of the speech in your video. This is what makes captions and clip selection possible.
- Billing — your plan, your credit balance, and a Stripe customer identifier. We never receive or store your card number.
There are no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
Why we use it
To run the service you signed up for: creating your account, processing your videos, taking payment, and keeping the service secure. Nothing else. We do not sell your data and we do not use your videos to train any model.
Who else sees it
These are the only third parties involved, each receiving only what its job needs:
- Stripe — Payments and invoicing. Your email address and an account identifier. Card details are entered on Stripe’s own page and never reach our servers.
- OpenAI — Transcribing the speech in your video, and choosing which passages make good clips. The audio of your video, and the transcript produced from it.
- Resend — Sending account emails — address confirmation and password resets. Your email address.
Some of these process data outside Switzerland, including in the United States, under the safeguards available for those countries.
The people you see on this site
The example clips on our pages show real creators, and each of them agreed to appear here. Every clip is credited with a link to the channel it came from, and any of them can ask for their video to be removed at any time by writing to clipaspect@gmail.com.
How long we keep it
A project lasts 24 hours. That long after it finishes, the video you uploaded and the clips cut from it are both deleted, and neither can be recovered. Download what you want to keep before then. The countdown is shown on the project and on its card in your list, so you never have to work it out yourself.
Your transcripts stay, and so does the record of the project — its name, its clip titles and what they cost. It is the video files that go, because they are what takes the room.
Gameplay recordings you upload for backgrounds are on a longer clock: they are kept as long as you use them, and removed after 30 days without a single project using one. A recording is checked once when it arrives so it can be reused without waiting again, and deleting one you still use would undo that.
Deleting a project removes everything belonging to it at once, rather than waiting for the 24 hours to pass. Deleting your account removes everything, including your gameplay recordings.
Payment records are kept as long as accounting law requires, even after an account is closed.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or have it deleted. You can delete your account and all its content yourself, at any time, from your settings— that is immediate and cannot be undone. For anything else, write to clipaspect@gmail.com.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the GDPR applies to you and you may also complain to your local data protection authority. In Switzerland, that is the FDPIC.
Security
Passwords are hashed and never recoverable. Your videos and clips are private to your account and served only through authenticated, short-lived links — they are never at a public URL.
Cookies
ClipAspect sets one cookie: the one that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, so it needs no consent banner. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and tell account holders by email first.
